Every year thousands of Jagannath disciples reach Puri from abroad to get blessings of Lord Jagannath despite the fact that they are outlawed - they are not allowed to enter the temple.
Mumbai Mirror reports that seeing this discrimination in gods’ court, an American devotee has shaped a similar shrine away from main temple where non-Indians too can pray.
An estimated Rs 26 lakh was spent on the construction of the temple, out of which Rs 12 lakh came from Parker himself, while the rest was contributed by devotees from both India and abroad.
The new temple has three idols Lord Jagannath - a form of Lord Krishna - his brother Balbhadra, and their sister Subhadra. Each idol is seven feet tall. The new temple follows the historic one in various rituals and daily schedules.
So, all foreign Puri devotees now no worries for you - you can as well take blessings.
