Cyber crime is spreading its wings very swiftly in India as well. Cyber space is exactly different to our societies where we are regularized due to regular police officers but cyber space is still a no-entry zone for police patrolling.
The information superhighway is a total no-no zone for them, leaving it wide open to — viruses, cyber stalking, trademark counterfeiting and cyber terrorism, hacking and what not.
DNA reports that a student was recently held for literally hacking website of telecom service provider Airtel and getting hold of call details of 26 central government employees including some high-ranking officials.
TheInformation Technology Act 2000 is not enough to deal with all the negatives, even our well-informed Indian authorities are aware of this and know there is tough fight ahead. Nevertheless, they are still in thinking zone and the crime is spreding its wings at a faster pace.
