I am for sure most of us must have celebrated Mothers day with full excitement and passion, I know you will say ‘of course’ and why not as this is day on which you can actually thank mother and show her your gratitude.



But are you contended by showing gratitude to just your mother and actually ignoring the whole mother community? Don’t know about you all, but I am sorry to say that the way we celebrated Mothers day is not the only path by which we can show the gratitude to ‘Mother’.



Most of us I know will be shocked to know that every minute of every day a woman dies as a result of pregnancy or childbirth in India. The loss per annum you can think is mind boggling.



All these maternal deaths are the outcome of a chain of actions and drawbacks attached with our Indian woman’s life. Risk of dying attached to a woman in India is 200 times higher than the risk run by a woman in the developed world.



So tell me was it fair and logical to celebrate Mothers day when so many Mothers are still

dying?
