It is not hard to be cynical about our good old Bollywood actors. They will merrily endorse cola drinks but will never drink any brand of sweetened drink. I guess they themselves don’t know when they have crossed ‘the line’. It is fine when they take money to open a jeweler shop or dance at a function.
However, when an actor takes up a ’cause’, you think, is the person in it for some personal gain? Maybe the person’s ratings are down. I would also not guarantee that the actor’s G.K./IQ is something to commend to the Nobel committee.
On the other hand, it is everyone’s fundamental right to air ones’ views and that no group of goons can deny.. By the way, have you noticed that most of our political parties at times act like normal bollywood goons? Some role reversal, eh?
The latest actor to face the wrath of political goons is our sweet Diya Mirza., who recently visited Rajkot to perform for a police function. The girl had to virtually flee Rajkot after she expressed support for Aamir Khan’s stand on the Narmada controversy, sparked fury and political outrage in the state.
Well, what else can you expect in Narendra Modi’s state?
