We have happy news for farmers; especially for those who rely on Information Technology to plan their farm practices.
Peasants can now turn to software so as to ease their work, new software is here which promises them to identify and destroy weeds. Salute to the latest software - OSCAR
This software is bascially a joint effort, kicked off by the French Institute of Pondicherry with Rice-Wheat Consortium for Indo-Gangetic Plains, India, CIRAD of France, and Netherlands-based Wageningen University.
Rice-Wheat Consortium for Indo-Gangetic Plains head Raj K Gupta said:
The project builds an open source weed identification system for major weed species for rice-wheat cropping systems of Indo-Gangetic plains covering India, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh.
Seems this project is surely going to make technology accessible in remote areas and Indian farmer’s technology adept.
