The people of Mumbai might have taken a welcome respite from the scorching heat with yesterday’s day-long heavy rains, but the fact that once again thousands had to suffer from rigorous inconvenience after Central Railway suburban and long-distance services remained upset for long.

This shower must have revived memories of last year’s deluge as this time only short-lived rain brought city to a halt.



Until now crores of rupees have been authorized to repair and renovate 150-year-old Mumbai’s drainage system, but still people had to cross dirty drains to reach their destinations.



Where is the money that was allotted? Don’t tell me this time that there is one more scam– ‘Mumbai drainage scam’ ready to hit the scam list.
