Many a times your past becomes an eyewitness to your present. That’s what has happened with actor Shayan Munshi. He would have never thought that our national language, which he learnt as optional subject in his childhood days is going to weigh down him in future.
Shayan choose Hindi in Class 5th and continued to study it till Class 12. He even acted and then dubbed his own role with his voice for the Hindi movie ‘Jhankaar Beats’ three years back.
The point is may be Shyaan must have forgotten all these points before turning hostile in the Jessica Lall murder case and then declaring that he is unable to read and write Hindi.
Now police is all set to screw him up. This time around, they are fully equipped with evidences including Munshi’s certificates and CD’s of the movie, these all are enough on basis of which Munshi will be confronted.
Munshi along with all this points will have to give an explanation for leaving the country, despite having a look-out circular issued against him.
The problem is not that Shyaan said he doesn’t know his national language but the real crux is that witnesses herein India have no passable security and are forced to withdraw their original statements.
I think our government is trying this time to be tougher with tougher stances connected to safeguard the conclusion of a case. New laws are without delay needed, i think if our police and judges continue to do their part, we can stop all this and find real solution to why witnesses turn hostile in high profile cases.
