I am sick of the government’s intervention in all forms of life here except where it is needed most. The government has put on a hold the release of the eagerly awaited ‘The Da Vinci Code’ movie. It wants the Catholic Church to analyze it first.



In India, we have just handful of Christians, about 18 million Roman Catholics. Among these, the protests are taking place like Mumbai. A Christian wrote the story; another Christian made the film in a predominantly Christian country. They all did not have any problem, but the mighty Indian government had to make its presence felt. There is no dearth of people wanting to politicize any issue in this country of ours.



We all know that the movie is fictional. The dinosaur, aka the Indian censor board, does not think so. Who will kill this beast of fear that is eating away at our free ethos?
